Richemer cellars, specialists in white and rosé wines since 1934 In the heart of the Hérault, between the Mediterranean Sea, the Canal du Midi and the Thau Lagoon, you will find the Caves Richemer, the only wine cooperative on the seafront. For almost 90 years, 200 winegrowers have been perpetuating the tradition of the first port of the Thau basin, producing generation after generation of fine, fresh wines marked by the freshness of the Mediterranean Sea. The Caves Richemer vineyard covers an area of 1000 hectares with typical grape varieties such as Terret, Marselan and Piquepoul. On these clay-limestone soils, the whites dominate, representing 65% of the production. These whites benefit from the sea spray. The wines are also rosé and red in IGP Pays d'Oc or IGP Côtes de Thau. Regularly awarded, they are marketed under the Richemer brand, which in just a few years has become an essential reference on the national and international markets. Passionate, its winemakers now wish to share their know-how and their love of the region. "Your Stopover between Land and Sea" is a collection of wine-related activities combining wines with this precious land. Endemic to the pond, the speckled seahorse is the emblem of the Richemer cellars. It appears as an obvious choice since the headquarters of the first cooperative cellar was located on the banks of the Thau Lagoon. It appears on all the bottles and in particular on the Terre et Mer dry white wine, made from the Terret grape variety, emblematic of the Caves Richemer, for a delicate wine between white flowers and citrus zest. The link between the land and the sea is further affirmed in the gastronomic offer of the Marseillan Plage site, developed on the basis of the Tourisme Gourmand en Occitanie network, while Marseillan is the departure (or arrival) point of the cycle route linking the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. Wine is not the main element but the essential link for the discovery of this exceptional territory.
